This might be one of my favorite shots ever since it captures Carissa in a moment that perfectly represents her. Anyone lucky enough to know her can vouch that she is truly that one spectacular, warm ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. I’m particularly a huge fan of her laugh.
I can be a hard-ass, cold-hearted and even cutthroat at times, but on the inside I am truly, madly, and deeply a sucker for love. Even in my darkest days, knowing this exists can get me through the day. It’s even better when at least one of them happens to be one of my favorite people in the world.
I’m glad Obama realized the same thing I’ve witnessed from some of my best friends: that love knows no discrimination.
I’m starting to feel like myself again thanks to her simply being in my life.
(Part 1) The beautiful bride-to-be, easily one of the kindest, gentlest souls I’ve ever met. She’ll be getting married next month, and moving to China with her new husband almost immediately after. She’s one half of the duo that helped set forth a series of events that made the past two years the best years of my life, and I will be eternally grateful for that. China couldn’t even keep us apart.
(Part 2) She’s the other half of the duo that woke me up from 25 years of slumber. Her smile lights up a room. Her personality could command an army.
One of my oldest, dearest friends, who still managed to stick around despite my long periods of sheer stupidity. Intelligent, pensive, a fantastic writer, and can crack my back like no other.
Don’t let her size fool you. What she lacks in height, she makes up for with a booming voice, a firecracker personality, and most of all: the biggest heart out of anyone I know.
My Valentines.
(Part 4) …With Clifford, fresh from his trip to Taiwan. And presents in hand: expired film and Taiwanese pineapple cake!
