Radiohead’s new album The King of Limbs came out a day early. Upon first listen, my immediate reaction was “This is no In Rainbows.” But as was the case with In Rainbows, the album takes several listens to let the genius really sink in.
My favorite song so far is the last song on the album: “Separator.” First listen, I almost wanted to cry. Second, third, fourth, etc… I felt like I just had the wind knocked out of me. It’s that kind of love.
The heartbreaking, fantastically heart wrenching, why-are-you-so-beautiful-but-why-can’t-I-have-you, why-can’t-I-BE-you, mentally draining and paralyzing kind of love only Radiohead can capture and so accurately translate into audio.
Yep, that kind of love.
